Membership:
Bookends Book Club is a book club for all women who enjoy reading African-American literature. Founded in 2001, we are based in Atlanta, Georgia. We are sisters who crave stimulating conversation with others like us, those who share a respect and love of African-American expression through words. The idea is to create a fun and friendly forum to openly express our feelings, thoughts, and journeys through reading. Each month a member chooses a book and leads a monthly discussion. We have four main rules: read the book, attend the meeting, contribute to the discussion, and BE CREATIVE!

We read from January through October. In February we have a Co-ed read and invite men to attend to give us another perspective. November is our charity month and we have our end of year celebration in December.

 Meetings:
The meetings are held on the 4th Friday of the month at 7:30 PM.  The meeting is usually held at the member's home on a rotating schedule.  Each member is encouraged to host at least one meeting.  Each month members are encouraged to bring suggested readings for upcoming month.  A synopsis should be included when suggesting a book. Each meeting is designed to bring forth a new experience.
Dues: $10 a month.
